Khloé Kardashian celebrated her 42nd birthday by diving into the Roberto Cavalli archives, wearing this burnt-orange silk slip dress from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2004 collection.

The Kardashians’ relationship with Cavalli’s early-2000s archive goes back years. Kim, Kourtney and Kendall have all repeatedly turned to the brand’s most recognisable designs, drawn to an era when Roberto Cavalli was producing unapologetically glamorous pieces that celebrated the body through liquid silks, daring cut-outs, animal prints and intricate embellishment.

It’s easy to see why these collections continue to resonate with them. The designs were created for women who wanted to make an entrance, and that aesthetic has always aligned with the Kardashian approach to fashion. At the same time, the resurgence of Y2K dressing has only made these archive pieces feel more relevant, transforming them from vintage finds into highly sought-after collector’s items.

Khloé’s gown is a perfect example. The burnt-orange silk looks luminous against her skin, while the asymmetric cut-outs and sculptural ruffled hem ensure the dress remains dynamic from every angle. More than 20 years after it first appeared on the runway, it still looks every bit as captivating today.
