If there is one celebrity who treats Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week as performance art, it is Fan Bingbing.

The actress attended eight shows over the course of the week, delivering eight entirely different fashion moments, complete with one unexpected hair transformation. While many celebrities find a formula and stick to it, Fan approaches each appearance as an opportunity to create a distinct character.

Georges Hobeika

Fan Bingbing opened the week wearing an ivory Georges Hobeika Fall 2026 Couture gown embroidered with silver arabesque motifs.

The gown itself already carried an air of regal elegance, but Fan elevated it through styling that reflected her own cultural identity. Her sculptural updo, porcelain makeup and jewellery complemented the embroidery beautifully, making this feel like an especially thoughtful choice.

Rahul Mishra

There was no time to rest, as Fan then stepped onto the runway for the Rahul Mishra Fall 2026 Couture show.

Encased in intricate black embroidery beneath an enormous lace halo, she became part of Rahul Mishra’s storytelling rather than simply wearing the collection. The silhouette blurred the line between fashion and sculpture, with the oversized circular frame creating one of the week’s most theatrical runway moments.

Stéphane Rolland

The following day, Fan appeared at the Stéphane Rolland Fall 2026 Couture show wearing one of the designer’s signature architectural creations.

Draped in an immaculate white column gown with a crystal-encrusted hood framing her face, she looked less like someone attending a fashion show and more like a futuristic high priestess. The crystal orb she carried only heightened the illusion, transforming the presentation into something almost otherworldly.

Germanier

Now this is where her creativity really came out to play.

Fan attended the Germanier Fall 2026 Couture show wearing an explosion of colour, texture and embellishment that perfectly matched the exuberance of the collection. The sculptural look resembled a vibrant coral reef in motion, with densely beaded organic forms bursting from the bodice and hips over a sleek red column silhouette. The intricate beadwork, coral-inspired shapes and saturated palette gave the look endless details to take in.

Did the platinum-blonde wig become the focal point of the look, competing with an outfit that deserved to hold all the attention?

Robert Wun

Fan attended the Robert Wun Fall 2026 Couture show in a flowing purple pleated gown with an elongated hood that framed her face like a Renaissance portrait.

The styling immediately reminded me of a medieval queen, or perhaps a high-ranking religious figure reimagined through Couture. Whatever the inspiration, Fan committed to the character from head to toe, and the monochromatic styling made the entire look feel even more striking.

Viktor & Rolf

I absolutely loved this look.

Fan returned to familiar territory for the Viktor & Rolf Fall 2026 Couture show wearing a dramatic black gown finished with a lace-trimmed bonnet topped with oversized pink roses.

The styling immediately evoked Victorian mourning dress with a fashion fantasy twist. It felt eerie, elegant and unmistakably Viktor & Rolf, while Fan once again disappeared completely into the character she had created.

Manish Malhotra

For her next appearance, Fan wore a Manish Malhotra Couture gown embellished with crystals and pearls.

As beautiful as the gown was, it wasn’t the dress alone that made this look memorable. The elaborate braided hairstyle, oversized gemstone jewellery and dramatic beauty styling transformed it into something far richer than what we saw on the runway.

Azzopardi

Fan Bingbing closed her Haute Couture Fashion Week wearing a sharply tailored black Azzopardi Couture suit, supporting the Maltese designer’s Haute Couture debut.

After a week of elaborate gowns, theatrical headpieces and fantasy-inspired styling, this felt like a complete reset. The precision-cut jacket, crisp white shirt and black tie offered a clean, masculine contrast to everything that came before.

The platinum-blonde hair returned one final time, but here it made much more sense. Against the restrained tailoring, it became part of the look rather than competing with it. It also brought a striking edge to the classic black suit, proving that Fan doesn’t need embellishment to create a memorable fashion moment.

Rather fittingly, she ended the week exactly as she began it: fully committed to a character.

By this point, it was clear that Fan wasn’t simply wearing Couture throughout the week. She was creating a different fashion identity for every single show, and few celebrities commit to that level of storytelling quite like she does. I love it when she’s in this mode. It’s almost like watching a press tour where each appearance calls for a different character, and she fully inhabits every one. Even her decision to support Luke Azzopardi’s Haute Couture debut felt entirely in keeping with that spirit of discovery and reinvention.
